Dear Friends,
Today I saw a tattered bird right outside my kitchen window clinging to the deck rail. I watched as he struggled to fly just a little ways, flittering around the deck clutching the rail. Finally he flew just a little bit further up into a lowly tree knot. He just sat there and looked at me kinda like he was saying "what are you going to do about me?" Using the zoom on my camera, I went outside for a closer look. And this is what I saw,

I kept checking back on him every once in awhile through out the afternoon. I also kept my kitty's food dish full so she would not be tempted to hunt down my poor little bird. Finally I looked out and
he was gone!
Oh dear, had he fallen?
I checked under the tree, no sign of him.
Had Heide discovered the easy prey and killed him for sport?
No, she was contently lying under the garden bench, no feathers in sight.
This brought a smile of relief and joy to me.
Then I thought
"You gathered the strength you needed
old boy and flew away to a new adventure.
And then I realized how much like this bird I am at the moment.
The car accident has brought on so much anxiety and stress.
I realized how I am not bullet proof and something terrible and
frightening can surprise you at anytime. The accident
has brought up old fears and past demons.
My feathers are tattered, ruffled, and worn. And I am
somewhat trembly and unsteady. I can only go short distances
at a time and I like to hang on to something secure
as I venture out (even if it is only to a lowly branch).
And I look at the threatening world, as if to say,
"What are you going to do to me next?"
God painted a lesson for me through the picture
of this old tattered bird.
I may be weak, unsteady, and trembly now, but ,
I will
gather strength and fly off and
SOAR!
on to a new adventure.

And delivered me from all my fears. ~~*

(Thanks God for speaking to me in a way I could hear and understand~
This old tattered bird really needed to hear this today.

(I have created a piece of art, inspired by this story ~ It is a little box with a fairy cradling a bird
I am going to draw someone's name
