The Story Behind
Ragamuffin Gal
Once there was a girl who loved
to spend time with her grandmother,
Pearl.
She loved to sit at her grandmother's
feet and gathers little bits of
scraps, rags, and left over materials
that fell from her work/sewing table.
She would look at each piece and
dream about what they could
become...
how they could be fashioned into
something beautiful and useful.
As time passed, she begin to use
this talent gained on other things
and people.
She read books by Manning, Wangerin,
and ten Boom, and listened to music
writtened and brought to life by
Rich Mullins, Caedman's Call, and
others.
She loves to take discarded things
and imagine the beautiful things
they could become.
And
she imagined the same
with people.
And she believed it...
even during the times,
especially when,
she sometimes made a big
mess in her
own life.
Believing nothing is beyond
HOPE.
And she is imagining
and believing
Still.
"For there is nothing lost,
that may be found,
if sought."
~Edmund Spenser
The picture is of my grandmother Pearl. I'm not sure when it was taken,
but it is my favorite and I was thrilled when mother brought it to me to keep.
