*^~ For The Love of Fabric

When my dear Grandmother Pearl
(the one I spent time with and sat by and learned
from ~ how to create something from near nothing)

passed from this life,
my mother, aunt, and I went to
sort through and clean out
a small part of her house at a time.

When we came to the guest bedroom
to open the dresser drawers,
we found them filled,
 no stuffed,
 full of fabric!

My younger self could not begin
 to wrap my mind around
 how one person could
collect and accumulate
such a wealth of fabric
over her lifetime?

... mystery solved ~

today as I stand in the middle
of my studio...

I see how...
one can so easily surround
oneself with so much art materials
in hopes of using it all.

Oh.. I so hope I can use all of
these wonderful fibers and materials
into fun creations before my maker
call me home!!!

How about you???
What do you collect?
and what can be found in your
drawers and cubbies?

Blessings my friends,
~Katie

**~ Hope

Hope

  1. The belief in a positive outcome
relating to events and circumstances in one's life.

The feeling that what is wanted can be had.

    For those who hope
I share this photo of inside a wreath on a front porch.

    Yes,
    it IS real,
    and yes,
    those 3 eggs
    are getting ready to hatch.

Isn't it a wonderful picture of hope?

If you are standing firm in hope these days
I am right there standing with you.
    Blessings my friends,

    ~ * Katie

I know so many people who are waiting in hope and today my heart is heavy for
them.  Just wanted you to know that I am with you in my heart and mind.
The wreath is so high that I had to reach up and turn my camera just so to click the picture.  Of all the places, it could only happen on my mom's porch. My mother
is such a hopeful person too, it makes sense that mother bird would choose her porch.

~* Hurry, Hurry, Spring!*~

If Leola has her way ~
Spring is coming early!

~* Leola's Spring Open House*~

As Spring comes into view ~
The first thing I like to do is
go out and get fresh Spring ideas!

Leolas never fails to inspire me..

This gal is quite content on taking a respite in Leolas
and I can understand her perfectly.

If you are close to Lamberts/James River Assembly
in Ozark, you will surely wish to step inside Leolas doors.
There you will find wonderful friends to greet you,
and inspiring ideas to tempt you!

Are you in a Spring state of mind Yet?
I know I am!

What is the first thing you like to do
as Spring approaches?
I would love to know.

Blessings for now..

LoVe to You!~*Me

Ever have one of those work weeks that you
 were so glad
 to be done with?
I just did, and whew...  as soon as I
finished swooshing my little firsties out the door
and laying all my preparations out for the next week,
I rushed to spend my precious little extra time
visiting my favorites.  (You know who you are)

It's kind of like the sweet chocolate bar I have hidden
in the back of my top desk drawer,

My most comfortable button up sweater
I bought here this year!
or
Oh Yes... those fur lined slippers that I
cannot wait to get on my feet once I'm at home.

or Dottie's little dog, Olive
This blogger gal and her little dog,
have captured my heart.

Later when I arrived home ~ lOOk
what was waiting
in my little mailbox...

From Patty!
does she know how to spread happiness
or what?

Just the thought of Spring
has set my busy little hands to work..

I just had to make these little Spring journals
to welcome Spring with ~

One I am giving away here
and One I am putting
in my Etsy store.

Both will come with a pro art drawing pencil
for your Spring writing and drawings.

 Blessings friends,
I am so relieved this week is over.
Let the weekend begin!

Love to You!

~Sometimes * Sanctuary...

...Sometimes Storm
I read something here that I cannot
seem to let go of..

It was the story of two women

one was a
shelter
(or sanctuary)
for the
other.
The other was a
storm.
It reminds me of my
response
to the people, the world,
the environment,
around me..

Do I provide a
safe haven,
a gracious welcome,
words said in kindness,
a peaceful sanctuary?
Or
am I the
storm?

I know I have been both at times.
My goal
is
to intentionally
choose to be a

Sanctuary!
I give thanks each week for you, and you, and you and
you  and the many more who give me sanctuary
through your blogs. Thank you Dear Friends!
Katie
