At the end of my college career, I met Mark.
He and I worked together at a Fitness Facility.
I taught dance and fitness classes, while Mark
worked the front desk and gave lessons.
We easily became fast friends. We would talk
for hours at work. He would often
for hours at work. He would often
accompany me to parties and events
and while we were there,
he was very attentive and protective of me.
We would talk on the phone for hours, he truly was
my best friend. Like the couple in the movie,
When Harry Met Sally
and while we were there,
he was very attentive and protective of me.
We would talk on the phone for hours, he truly was
my best friend. Like the couple in the movie,
When Harry Met Sally
His was the first voice I wanted to hear on the phone
in the morning and the last before I went to sleep.
Secretly we both began having more than friend
feelings, but had no idea how to begin to date.
Finally, we both went to our separate homes
to spend Thanksgiving with our families.
Again we called back and forth almost
the whole time apart. When I returned to
Springfield he met me at the old victorian
house I was renting with my six roommates.
We decorated the tree together and afterwards
I was sitting on the kitchen counter and he was
standing there in front of me and somehow
we both just knew it was time to start a
new kind of relationship.
Because we were the best of friends
our relationship advanced to a proposal
2 months later and a wedding in 4 months.
This is one of my most favorite photos of us.
I think why I have remained in love with him
through the years is because he has such a
lovely, wonderful, generous, and kind heart.
He is a very good person and being with him
has changed me, it has made me wish to be
a better person. He brings out the best in me.
I am so glad that we found each other.
Whatever our souls are made of,
his and mine are the same...

Sweet sweet story about how you two got together. Sometimes things are just meant to be, and you 2 were clearly meant to be!
Our story is a bit different;
Grant and I had both been married before, were both divorced and fragile. We both worked for the police - he as a police officer, me on the civilian side. We went on a course, and on the first day he asked me out for a meal (I was the first girl he'd asked out since his unpleasant divorce). I hummed and ha'd, having decided that I was never going to get involved with a man EVER AGAIN (after my unpleasant divorce), I was just going to live quietly with my dog. But while deciding, I kept on thinking about his stunning blue eyes. By the end of the 3 day course I couldn't get those eyes, or Grant, out of my head! We went out for a lovely meal, he met my dog and she fell in love with him, and the rest, as they say, is history. We've been together now for 17+ years, married for 16 and have 2 beautiful children. Grant is, and will always be, the love of my life. I know I am his too.
And he still has those stunning blue eyes (as does our daughter!).

I'm so glad you told your story here. There's no joy like being married to your best friend.
Hey Katie
Would you please check your email or my blog ?
I have a OWOH surprise for you.
You are one of my winners !!
Kind greetings Rian from Holland :)
I love this! Such a sweet love story. "Love is just a friendship--that has caught fire."
I love this! Rick and I were friends first -- we don't know quite how or when it switched, though we both can remember the switch. 15 years later, we still make each other smile. (We also exasperate the heck out of each other now and then, but that's life!)
Beautifully illustrated to "move the story" along! Love it!
That is so beautiful, Katie! I'm married to my best friend, too....although we never went through that friendship part first!
Katie I so enjoyed reading your Love Story. You make such a beautiful couple.
Wishes
Lynne
