Dearest Friends
This week we experienced ice, snow, and freezing temperatures!
It presented the very happy challenge of what to do
with three unexpected days of unplanned time.
So here are some pictures of things I did this week!
Please feel free to leave me a comment
of a suggestion that you like to do
when you have an unexpected
free day ~ I would love
to hear your responses!
My dearest friend, Sally, had a birthday and I had fun spending extra time creating an altered book
for her in place of a Birthday Card.
A peak inside ~ I wrote an Acrostic Poem
with the letters of her name.
We had a party at a friend's house to celebrate!
The guys ~ Hong, Don, Mark, Tom
The girls, Vera, Sally, me, & Amy

I loved creating paper dolls using
the new paper doll parts collage sheets from
Paper Whimsey. I got carried away putting them together
and then on tags from a K & Company tag pad.
We also went to see the movie ~ New In Town
and we spent a lot of time snuggling and reading in
front of the fire. And I had fun catching up with some
Blog friends ~ it was a Wonderful week!

Katie

Oh, Katie! The paper dolls are wonderful. As I was at home playing with our books on the snow day, I thought of you often. I just knew you were in your dream-making room creating whimsy and beauty. I was right.
Hi Katie,
Snow days we no longer have to live with. In the rainy season when a tropical storm blows in we usually do a lot of reading. I also do what we have dubed as "The Old Ways Art" Projects that are done without electrical power ;) Many times we will be quite awhile without power or water.

Wow - you were so... productive! Creative! And how wonderful to celebrate a birthday with a such a lovely friend. She'll cherish the book you made for the next 25 years!
I had a houseful of kids though I tried to work in the studio for an hour a day - certainly nothing like what you've accomplished.
Love your projects!

I hope drinking tea is among those things to do when it's cold, snowy and icy...because you won the tea cozy from Thistle Cove Farm's participation in the OWOH 2009 Event. Please send me an e-mail so we can get together on the sending. If you don't want a tea cozy, I'll send yarn.
I wanted to let you know you have won through the one-world, one-heart giveaway the Marie A. doll from me. I will mail her to you the week of February 23rd, and will email you the day I post her. I hope you enjoy your gift. Your blog is wonderful and I have added you to my reader.
