30 Years of Love ~ *

On August 1, 1981, Mark and I were wed in a small country church in a very non-traditional wedding (we were children of the 60's and 70's for goodness sakes)  We wrote our own vows and chose the quote on the bottom of the collage from Song of Solomon to be our wedding theme verse. It is what we both said to one another as we slipped our wedding bands on to each other's fingers. This photo is our actual engagement photo we had taken in a shop near the St. Charles area in St. Louis (where Mark is from).  I  made this collage in KC Willis's collage conference which I tell more about on my studio blog. This weekend we are celebrating 30 years of marriage. I am happy to say that we are still very much in love with one another. Our wedding date was 8-1-81.

Happy Anniversary. I ADORE the old-timey photo of the two of you. The collage is wonderful and fits the mood of the photos perfectly.

Isn't it wonderful to still be in love after 30 yrs (41 for us)? 'Tis sweet.

Many warm hugs,

Oh, dear Katie. That is precious. You did some beautiful work at KC's. Most important are those thirty wonderful years, Er wrote our own vows, too, and danced barefoot in our family garden :-)
Bigs hugs and happy anniversary, sweet one!

Having seen this art in person
and that love in person
I'd say it is indeed
a fitting tribute.

But.

It can't come close to the
power in thirty years
of a shared life
and love.

I love you, dear heart.
