* ~ Having this extra time during summer to do
have some creative adventures is a dream ~ *

Last Weekend I had the opportunity to take a
felting class with Vicki Hardcastle in
Eureka Springs ~ a charming art community
nestled in the Ozark hills.

The first 2 pictures are my own felting projects.
Our Cone Flowers are in bloom and their rich colors
are inspiring my art projects.

Below is a picture of Dulcy and me with our
felted projects from the class.  Hers is a sweet
blue bird, while mine is a white barn owl.

Some of the other class members projects ~
We were taught how to sculpt faces.

I enjoyed the class and day!

Thanks Vicki for teaching it and thanks to Dulcy
for telling me about it and going with me to it!

I have also been participating in the Creative Bootcamp
and hope to post some pictures from my daily exercises
soon.  Until then just click the button on my side bar
to join in or see what others have been doing.

That looks like such fun. What creative and lovely projects. There are so many wonderful ways to be creative. I need to start trying some more. I knit and cross stitch, but felting looks fun to do.

Looks like you had fun! BTW, did anyone ever tell you, you look like the actress Lorraine Bracco? :)

Katie, I love your needlefelting! Especially those cone flowers and faces. Wish I could've been in that class - Eureka Springs is a great little spot.

Since I have not a stitch of artistic ability, I just drop by to drool!

oh oh oh dear Katie!
It's clear you had a wonderful time ... so many lovely creations!
You know I got together with some art friends today out in the countryside and we played with dry needle felting ... I have been punching away this evening. Your coneflower is so inspiring...can't help but wish that we could get together to play. I made a wool pin cushion some years ago with a cone flower from recycled wool skirts ... so many things to try!
Happy that you have creative summer days ahead of you ... you seem to get quite a lot accomplished all year round from what I can tell :)
Enjoy * Enjoy!

Oh these are fabulous! I haven't tried scupting with roving yet, I not too good with it as far as adding it to ATCs or postcards...
