Dear Friends,
This is my father (John) when
he was in the Navy. He died in
January of 1992. He taught me
many things but one of the best
lessons I learned from him was
to always be nice, kind, and
friendly to those who may not
be as fortunate as you are ~ to
be your brother's keeper. I still
honor him to this day by striving
to do just that ~Thanks Dad ~ *
Last Saturday,
Dulcy and I attending
a Rug Hook In
at Eureka Springs, AR
It was a beautiful Day
And Eureka Springs is a charming town
tucked away in the Ozark Hill Country.
We saw several artful rug designs
this enchanted Fairy Scene
was a favorite of mine.
Lots of wool and rug pattern
vendors were there. These felted owls, puppy, Santa,
and snowman were so cute
and whimsical.
This rug is embellished
with vintage pins,bead work,
buttons, and other fun items!
After our basket lunch, we visited
downtown Eureka Springs
with all its charming shops
and Art galleries.
has a web store so you can see the
treasures that are stored behind this door!
where all the clothes are designed
and crafted by the owner ~ Mark Hughes
to model it so I could take
a picture of it.
This store in right next door
and give you the eclectic feeling of
Eureka Springs.
I loved these parasols!
they reminded me of the
Sweet Goodness Swap
so I had to buy a pink one
to paint polka dots on.
Some of the lush greenery
that encased the community.
Then....
Life Interrupted ~
On the way home,
on one of the curvy lake roads,
close to Lampe, MO,
A pick-up truck pulling a boat trailor,
driven by 2 young men,
pulled out across our lane,
and we collided.
This is what my white Honda CRV
looks like now....
Dulcy and I were wearing our seat belts,
the air bags worked,
and we sustained moderate injuries.
We are resting at home this week
and taking it easy.
I thank God for his grace and mercy.
and I know that after all the smoke
clears from this accident
that we will find a
Blessing!
Blessings to You Friends!!!
and give you the eclectic feeling of
Eureka Springs.

I am so glad you are OK! How scary that must of been! Eureka is always a blast, glad y'all had fun!
YIKES! so glad you guys were not hurt!! Looks like you had fun before the accident tho.
Thank you for posting a photo of your dad on father's day. I tried to do that, but just couldn't work myself up to it yet... Maybe soon. Daddy was killed by a drunk driver in July '06, so it has not even been 2 years yet. One of these days God will give me the strength to blog about him, but for now it still hurts too much.
I'm also very glad that you're both OK! Looks like you had fun before the interruption :)
I am so very grateful that you are ok. Missed seeing you, but I can see that you certainly had your hands full. I was able to see several friends from our high school years and you were in each conversation. God Bless
Wow! Now I think I NEED that plaid coat! Well......aside from the "incident" it was a fabulous day!
